Administrator/Fund-raiser

Smoldering Wick Ministries is looking for an experienced administrator/Fund-raiser to work in the development of this small, but important world-wide ministry. Kim and Kathy Wenzel have 32 years of experience in pastoring, burnout and recovery. They spend most of their time counseling, writing, and speaking on the subject of pastoral burnout and Tree of Life approach to ministry. They have very little time to spend on finance and donor development.

Smoldering Wick needs an experienced administrator and fund-raiser who is capable of producing results that will finance the operation of the 30 acre retreat ranch, the growing number of resources the ministry gives away, and the future expansion of the ministry.

Smoldering Wick needs someone who is capable of generating a donor base that will bring in capital to build accommodations on the retreat ranch, publishing needs, etc. Someone who can generate capital in the hundreds of thousands of dollars for a ministry that deals with an area of need the church doesn’t like to talk about. We say this to warn you - this will be challenging fund-raising.

Here are some details:

  1. SWM needs someone with a heart for the discouraged, burned-out or fallen ministry leader. A Good Samaritan heart. Someone who can feel their pain and not be a judge, but a lover and a healer.
  2. SWM needs someone who can spend their life working and serving in a ministry where they will never be famous. We do a John the Baptist style ministry. In otherwards, our ministry prepares the way for the wounded pastor to regain his way. We are doing a “nameless” Good Samaritan ministry of helping those who have been cast aside, or left for dead. It is very much a behind the scenes ministry where you will never be well known, yet you will do a work of extreme importance for the Kingdom.
  3. All funds generated must be created within the laws and regulations of a 501 (c)(3) organization.
  4. Your compensation is based on a sliding percentage scale.
  5. We are interested in hearing from people with a proven track record in this field. Please, no dreamers.
